progressing backwards

these are the things i'm dreaming about...

a little path to freedom inspiration.  it's long (about 9 minutes), so get your chores done, then pour a cup of tea, relax and enjoy!

We've been discussing these thoughts here, Tonia... Radical and life-changing. But it begins with just one simple step. Just one. And then another one. Not all over night. Just one at a time.

Have you read this:

Good to walk with you, Tonia...

I just came in from working in my garden for four hours and was ready to sit down and rest with a cup of tea. While the water heated, I clicked on your blog. Imagine my delight at reading this post. I took your suggestion to sit down with my tea and watch the video. Lots to dream about! Makes me think that maybe I should dig raised beds in my front yard (the sunniest spot) and plant more veggies!

You might want to check out John Jeavons website (http://www.johnjeavons.info/). I worked with John in Palo Alto in the early '80's and he's got lots of good resources on sustainable agriculture and mini-farming. There's so much we can do in a small space. Food growing, simple living - these are ideas that have resonated with me for years and I'm excited to see so much more interest these days in living more responsibly on the earth.

I noticed at the bottom of the pathtofreedom website, the phrase, "For the Greater Glory of the Creator." I was interested to see that.

Thanks for an interesting and inspiring video. Dream on, dear heart!
Love ya,
Beth

tonia,
this was GREAT! you know for so long i have lamented the fact that we were unable to purchase a home with acreage. i am a country girl at heart, always have been and i wanted what i thought could only be done with acreage in the "country". wow, this man has shown and proven me so very wrong. what a great new way of looking at this and what a wonderful perspective. thank you so much for sharing this. love, julie

Ann,

amen! one step at a time...that's all we can do. sooo glad to be walking with you.

Beth,

thanks for the link! i, too, am so excited to see people getting on board with these ideas. it has to be done...we just can't go on in the same way we have the past 40 years.

i don't know much about the pathtofreedom's spiritual outlook, but i have always found them to be respectful, gentle, mature and wise. i really enjoy their site and their example. glad you liked it too.

julie,

i know! they are so inspiring i sometimes want to leave the country and move to the city to do urban farming! *grin*

i am so glad you watched and were inspired. can't wait to see what direction the Lord leads you!

have fun dreaming!

love,

tonia

Tonia,
thanks for sharing! This is exactly the direction that I want to head as well. I am so tired of seeing our hard-earned money going to Walmart and other stores for things that 50 years ago were grown or made instead of bought.
I've started with my garden this year but am really taking the time to learn what works and what doesn't instead of haphazardly going about it and giving up after a few weeks. Can't wait to check out some of the other resources from the comments!

Jessica,

yes, take your time! every little step forward counts and trying too much at once only burns out everybody (ask me how i know this!)

thanks for stopping by! best wishes for successful growing!
